I've seen a lot of discussions here and elsewhere about this issue but don't see any recognition from Microsoft that this is a bug and that a fix is on the way...

I print a lot of emails and some print properly, others don't. The suggested workarounds are not suitable or appropriate...

Anyone know what is going on?

This is not an official Microsoft support forum. You are talking to your
peers. They aren't going to make any statements about issues like this.

Yes, there needs to be improvements for printing. The best way is to send
feedback to Microsoft .

When working in Office, you can use the ³Send Feedback² option under the
Help menu in all of the Office applications.

hi diane...

appreciate your comments.

yes i've sent feedback previously as per your suggestion. my concern is that, from digging around on the internet, this issue has been around since entourage 2004. this doesn't seem acceptable in my opinion that this bug hasn't been addressed in over 4 years.

Evidently it hasn't been high on their list or it's very hard to fix. I know
many users have been asking for format = flowed for years along with other
features. Realistically, they cannot add or fix everything that users want.
You also have to look at the fact that in the past few years, they have had
to rewrite for the change from Classic to OSX, Intel and PPC along with
writing for ever changing OSX features. Just doing this has taken tremendous
resources leaving little time for fixing or adding new features. I have
heard that they have increased the number of developers working on Office
for Mac. Our best option is to keep sending in the feedback. The squeaky
wheel will eventually work.

Diane,
thanks for your considered and helpful comments.
i'm with acmcj tho' it seems pretty poor that nothings been done.
they have produced a new release with the same problem as the old release!
i've send feedback (and just did it again today as this has slowed down my workflow a lot, but particularly today when i had to print a load of emails for a clent tracking exercise...)
I guess developeres need to develop and not answer emails, but it does feel a bit odd that microsft make it hard to connect with a real person to give feedback - you even have to check the box that says...
'i know you hate people and find them irritating so I wholehardtedly commit to checking the box that means you don't have to contact me, or in fact take any notice of me...'
OK, i'm a bit frustrated today!
lets see if the squeaky wheel does get fixed.

I was just doing some research on Print to PDF for Entourage. I'm wondering
if you selected PDF in the Print menu. Saved the message in PDF format and
tried printing it. Let me know how your testing goes using this method.

If that works, I can see if we can create a workflow in Automator that would
do these steps for you.
