Fonts change after opening a saved file in powerpoint

Has anyone experienced fonts or bullet points changing after reopening a
saved file in Powerpoint? This version is XP with SP3 installed. The fonts
are true type and have been saved as embedded.

Do you have more than one master in the presentation? If so, are you using
the second (or later) master on the slide whose fonts are changing? If so,
try moving that master to the top of the list, then saving the presentation.
