I have Office XP version 2002. I somehow messed up the program. I can still
use it, but can not install service pack without the disk. I lost the disk.
I have the product key and ID. Can I get the disk replaced? Can I download
the program using one or both of those numbers/key/ID without having to pay
for it again? Any ideas?
I have tried to install the service pack without it using the full file, but
it still wants my disk when trying to install.
Thank you

It has been my experience that Office now requires the CD to install service
packs. I don't believe you messed up the program.

You will have to contact MS to get replacement media. There will be a
charge, but shouldn't be "too" outrageous.

There is nothing on any MS CD that ties it to a specific Product Key. So, all
you need to do is find a friend with the same version of Office and get him/her
to burn you a copy. The version DOES matter and must match exactly, i.e. Pro CD
won't work with Std. PK, OEM won't work with Retail, etc.
