Formatting date in an "&" formula

Hello,

I have a spreadsheet where the cells look like this:

A1-> Data Updated Through
A2-> =TODAY()-1
A3-> =A1&" "&B1

However, the the results in A3 shows "Data updated through
38125" instead of "Data updated through 05/18/2004".

I tried to format the cell to mm/dd/yyyy, but it wouldn't
let me because there are words in the results.

Is there a way to correct this???

=A1 & " " & TEXT(B1,"mm/dd/yyyy")

Kate, one way:

=A1&" "&TEXT(A2,"mm/dd/yyyy").

(You meant A2 in your example, didn't you?)
