formatting my mac

I'd like to format my Powerbook running OS X and Microsoft office X.
I work mainly with Entourage and I'd like to keep all the info I have
stored in it, such as the mail, the address, the accounts, ecc.
Is there a file I can save before I uninstall Office?
How can I put that file back in the new Office folder?

Thanks a lot in advance

All your data is stored in the Microsoft User Data folder. This folder
should be in your User's Document folder.

Rules, mailing lists, signatures, messages, data, schedules, contacts,
tasks, notes, calendar are located in:

~/Documents/Microsoft User Data/Office X Identities/your identity

Note: your identity is called Main Identity unless you rename it.

After you reformat, just drag the Microsoft User Data folder to your new
Documents folder then open Entourage. It should find your data. You might
have to select which database to open if you have renamed the identity from
Main.

open <<your hard drive>>,

locate and open USERS folder,

locate & open icon for <<your user id>>

locate & open DOCUMENTS folder,

locate & open MICROSOFT USER DATA folder

locate & open OFFICE X IDENTITIES folder
((you could save this whole OFF. X IDENT. folder if you have the space))

if you have only one identity created & are only interested in
the Entourage stuff, all you need to copy or save is
the folder called MAIN IDENTITY

What Diane's excellent advice didn't spell out specifically is that
uninstalling Office, including using "Remove Office" app - the only good way
- doesn't touch that Microsoft User Data folder at all. It leaves it alone.
