Forms

I have a form were I am using a checkmark, and I would
like to have the user click on the checkmark and for the
check mark to be fillin automatically.

Do I have to protect the whole document or is there a way
to have the check mark automatic without protecting the
document?

Is there a way to protect only sections of the documents?

Thank you.

You can put it in a separate section or use another way of generating a
checkbox. There are a number of ways to create and use clickable checkboxes
in documents / templates. Some require protected or locked forms, others do
not. Take a look at the Checkbox template available at
http://www.addbalance.com/word/download.htm#CheckboxAddIn for an exploration
of these.

Otherwise, what you are talking about is what Word calls an "online form."
Check this in help. For more about online forms, follow the links at
http://addbalance.com/word/wordwebresources.htm#Forms or
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customization/FillinTheBlanks.htm especially Dian
Chapman's series of articles.

Hope this helps,
