Formula to insert characters

Sho

I have some numbers in a cell where I want to put a character at the
beginning and end e.g. if I have 20002 I want to change this to A20002C.

Is there a quick function that will do this for me?

Thanks

Or the shorter

="A"&A1&"C"

the only reason to use TEXT would be if one wants a certain amount of digits

OR, simply Custom Format the cells to:

"A"General"C"

Where there are no formulas to deal with.

This also leaves the numbers as true XL numbers, just in case you might need
them that way.
