What is your criteria for identifying what to keep?

=IF(ISNUMBER(FIND(" ",A1,4))*ISNUMBER(FIND("(",A1)),IF(FIND("
",A1,4)<FIND("(",A1),TRIM(MID(A1,FIND(" ",A1,4)+1,FIND("(",A1)-FIND("
",A1,4)-1)),A1),A1)

keeps everything from the first space beyond the 3rd character to the
first open parenthesis.

Maybe Jerry Lewis' crystal ball is working a lot better than mine <vbg>.

Did you omit part of your message? Delete what? Leave what? There's nothing in
common between your 1st and 2nd examples, so the 2nd isn't the result of the
formula applied to the 1st.

Hello Myrna from Steved

I just wanted the Alpha nothing else,
so the best I could come up with is to
put it as did.
