I am a beginner on project and am trying to put together my first "Project"
project. I am trying to create a schedule that takes the number of man hours
on a task, divides it by the number of avg men per day to calculate the
duration on the job in days. (then hopefully the gantt chart would react
accordingly as well)

My business is landscaping and the man hours on our jobs can be anywhere
from 2000 to 60000. We typically will put a crew of 12 on a jobsite which
would "burn" 96 hours per day. Sometimes we may decide to put 20 men to get
a job done sooner so therefore the duration would have to change accordingly.

I can see it in my mind how I'd like for it to work but do not know project
well enough to do this. Thanks

Hi,

Insert the culumn "Work"
Enter the man-hours
Double-click the task to show task information
In the resources pad select the resoruce, enter the units (12 people =
1200%)
