FP 98 , FP2000 AND FP 2007 ???

can anyone tell me what if anything is significantly different between

the older version fp98 ( i own fp2000 and rarely use it as it is not as
friendy at startup)

and i am curious what benefit i would derive by upgrading
because i already have 2000 webpages and i really don't want to re invent
the wheel

Hey, if you're happy with a 9 yr old program there's not much point to
upgrading to a 7 year old program eh?
There won't be a FP2007, but you may want to look at Expression Web which is
MS's new web designer.

What's not "friendly" about the way FP2000 opens? It was always nice to me.
:)

I just went from FP 2000 to FP 2003 and there were few improvements that I
really need.

I know what you mean about startup. FP makes it hard for you to get started
with a new web but once you manage to get it set up it starts fine. The
2003 version isn't any better.

I didn't have any trouble moving up.

the way it asks you to open a web
very confusing , not intuitive
there are several ways to approach opening a web

hard to put into words but those who worked with fp98 and fp 2000 know what
i am talking about.

also the way it uses the frames, i am UNABLE to reset the left frame

so i always have to manually drag it to the corret width so that i can see
the file names.

I've been working with FP since version 1 when it was Vermeer's product.
Basically there are and have been as far as I can remember two
ways...opening a local disc based web and opening a local server based web
(PWS Personal Web Server, newer versions run IIS on local machine as
server). Open C: is disc based Open http://localhost/whatever is server
based. Confusing at first but after 10 years I got the hang of it :)

I'm running FP2003 and EW full release version. I find I am using FP less
and less.
The tutorial movie dvd that comes with EW is very good, the transition
should be pretty easy for FPers.

FP2000 is way better than FP98. FP98 relies on HTML spec that has been
superseded.
