Freezes during "changing your publication"

While trying to print to an Adobe PDF, Publisher 2002 freezes with a dialog
box that is titled WORKING...

Inside the box it says "changing your publication" and is at 13%, but after
a long time it never changes and stays completely frozen.

It does, however, actually create the PDF but it is way off from the
original document. I have been using Publisher 2002 now for four years and
have been creating PDFs the whole time. I have never encountered this
problem and could find no answers online.

Can someone help me?

Are you using the PDFMaker add-in or just printing to the Adobe PDF printer?

I am printing to the PDF printer.

If you have a PDF paper size other than the publication page size selected,
Publisher may try to resize the publication to the new size when you go to
print (although only if you are working with a wizard publication). Make
sure that you have Adobe PDF (or Acrobat Distiller) selected under File >
Page Setup > Printer and Paper, and that the paper size in the driver there
is the same as you have had selected all along.

Okay, I think I figured out what happened. All my Adobe option selections
were correct, but somehow my publication size got changed to FULL PAGE with
size 8.264 X 11.694 inches. This is strange since I started formatting this
newsletter from a previous one which was (and still is) 8.5 X 11. I have no
idea how that got changed, thus my current formatting problems and creation
of a "Letter" size PDF.

This still doesn't explain to me why Publisher freezes up at 13% of
"changing your publication." I hope I can change it in order to write a PDF.

Thanks for your help.

You're currently designing at A4 format. Congratulations on achieving ISO
compliance and joining the rest of the world.

Will the PDF have to be printed? If not, why not just leave it in A4 format?

How it got changed to A4 I have no idea. I do live in France and sometimes
create A4 pdfs, so perhaps it got switched around the first time I tried to
print a pdf and didn't pay attention to the page size.

To answer your question, yes, I do need to have it printed in the States on
letter size paper, so I'll need to change it.

Any tips on easily changing my Publisher document to 8.5 X 11?
