Freezing when opening large files

Hello, i am using Office 2003 on Win XP Pro and am
currently experiencing problems with Outlook 2003. When i
try to open large messeages, mainly with attachments etc,
Outlook freezes. i have tried opening the messages under
safe mode but with no avail.

Please can you provide a solution?

P.s i've tried disabling the messagner tab in tools,
options but it still freezes.
