Is there an easy way to put french characters into a publisher 2007 document
without changing your overal languager settings?

Insert > Symbol

Or add a French keyboard layout (which you can switch to and from easily
using the Language Bar).

Or learn the Alt+ key combinations (listed in Character Map, in the
Start menu under Accessories)
