FrontPage 2000 Errors...

S

Scott Nipp

I am running an HP-UX/Apache webserver with FrontPage 2000
server extensions. This is a tricky beast at best, but
has been working fine. Unfortunately, during a recent
update to some content on the site we began getting
a "hanging hourglass" in the Frontpage client. Once this
began occurring, some of the prior working content is now
broken. I am pretty stumped at this point and could
really use some help with this.

I am seeing the following error in the error_log on the
server...

[Mon Nov 3 12:52:09 2003] [error] [client 10.97.101.158]
Premature end of script
headers: /usr/local/apache/bin/fpexec

Thanks in advance for any help.

You may need to try some of the usual repairs (on your FP webs)
1) In Windows Explorer Find and delete all FP Temp Files
2) In Windows Explorer Find and delete all hidden *.web files
3) In Windows Explorer Find and delete the file CMDUI.PRF
4) Disable or Uninstall any FP Addins
5) Run a Repair / Reinstall on FP & IE
6) Install all Service Packs for your OS, IE, and MS Office
And then run a check on the health and permissions of your FP SE on the server
