When I open a page from Sharepoint 2003 (AllItems.aspx) in Frontpage 2003,
the page is not displayed correctly. The page is ok in the beginning but
somewhere in the middle the page uses >&lt and other & characters.

How do I correct this?

These are known as HTML entities and are used instead of the real
character. > = >, < = <
This is used when you want people to see <> on the page. This is because
these characters are used in HTML code and therefor not normally
displayed. When using entities, you tell the browser that they should be
displayed.
