frontpage - upgrade operating system to XP Pro - set up

I was using FP on ME operating system and non of the extension facilities
worked. Now using XP Pro and I want to set up to use the programme in full, I
understand XP has a server to test the site and show all graphics such as
buttons. The jargon prevents me understanding what to do.

XP Pro has IIS (Internet Information Servoces) which allows you to create a
web server, XP Home doesn't (officialy).
But you need to know what you are doing when you use it, it can easily leave
your PC wide open.

If FrontPage extensions are not supported by server to which you upload your
website, it makes no difference whether the website was created within the
ME or XP environment.. you should check that the website host supports the
features before uploading..
