Frontpage2002 Upgrade to F2003 with Group policy

Hallo.
I have a small problem with upgrade from FrontPage 2002
to 2003.
I distribute all applications in active directory. When I
publish F 2003 I choose to upgrade F 2002 version. Next
time the user login, the user have both shortcut. First
when the user starts F2003 the uninstallaion starts on
f2002. I want same solutions as all my other upgrades...
after publish upgrade on one software the old shortcut
removes under login.. If not I can not secure that all
users run the new version. I have same problem in Visio

Hi,

I understand that after you upgraded to FrontPage 2003 by using group
policy, the FrontPage 2002 shortcut still remains.

Did you assign or publish FrontPage 2003 to the clients?
Does the group policy take effect on user side or computer side?

In our scenario, I would suggest remove and redeploy the package following
the KB article below:
816102 HOW TO: Use Group Policy to Remotely Install Software in Windows
Server
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=816102

Hope it helps. Have a nice day!

Sincerely,

Hi.
We Publish all applications to USER Side.
The shourtcuts removes after i starts F2003 "The
uninstallation start"
But in all other applications "300" If i upgrade Program
A to B the shourtcut to A will be removed when i login.
In F2003 Upgrade the F2002 shortcut doesnt removed after
first login... But it's removes after i starts F2003
first time.. But i need to secure that no users run F2002
more.. If the shourtcut to F2002 is still there until
F2003 starts, i can not secure that the user run correct
version.

Hi,

It seems to be a by design behavior. By the way, if we double click the
shortcut for FrontPage 2002 after upgrading, will it launch FP2002 or it
will launch FrontPage 2003 anyway?
