gating port 80 in Outllook

I currently use symantec's "Norton Personal Firewall" to establish a rule
which prevents in-coming e-mail from accessing web gifs, as an anti spam
feature.
Now I need a better way to do this because I want to recieve RSS
transmissions via an Outlook add-in like "WebGator."
I seek suggestions from the group to mod the email web default pref.
