General Publisher question

I have a friend that is fairly familiar with MS Publisher. He was recently
issued a new PC at work and found that alot of the setting that he had on his
previous system were not set to his liking. So I have a two part question.

A: He's made a calender and it looks great, with the exception that the
"gridlines" for each block aren't there. You can see the text and you can
see the numbers. Any Idea on how to have the gridlines to show up? I think
this is just a matter of clicking a setting, but we've looked it over and
can't seem to find it.

B: His old PC is still in his office, is there a way that he can export all
the settings in he older MS Publisher system, then import them in the new
systems?

thanks in advance, all replies are appreciated.

Depends on how he created the Calendar...if he used a Table to create the grid, Select the Table, Right Click, Change Table, Line Border Styles, More Styles, select line thickness..and Grid.

This may vary depending on which version of Publisher, but you should be able to figure it out.

If you are trying to use grid guides they are in the arrange menu or you can drag
them from the ruler, otherwise it is what Rob said...
What settings are you missing? What version did you have before?

Mary, Thanks for your response! The setting that I'm referring to are
setting such as grid lines, font settings things like that. He has reported
to me that when he tries to print the the fonts and things are not "right".
What I'm assuming is that he had a version of publisher that he had been
working with and had set up to his liking. Then when then new system arrived
publisher was installed and it only had the default settings.

If he has the old publication and opens it, most of the formatting will be intact.
The basic settings are the same throughout the Publisher series, just presented
differently. In older Publisher versions you had to hold the shift and then drag the
grid lines; in Publisher 2003 you simply drag. In the arrange menu you can designate
center lines and margins in the rows and columns, this is new.
Your friend needs to learn the Publisher program.
