Getting Contacts to default as address book for Word2003

Even after reading many responses and looking at FAQ, I cannot get my Contacts list to show up in the Envelopes/Labels dialog box in Word2003. I am running a new computer with Windows XP using Office2003 Professional. I have done everything I know to get this to work. However, when I click on the Insert Address icon, I get an error code telling me to make Outlook my "Default Mail Client". However, I have checked the box in Outlook telling it to do just this. What other switches are there, and where are they?
