Getting Entourage to check for new mail quicker?

Hi,
Does anyone know how to get Entourage to check for new mail quicker?
I just installed it on my new IMAC and it's default setting is to
check for new mail every 10 minutes. There must be a way to change
this setting, I've looked for a while but can't find anything. Any
help would be appreciated.

Checking of mail is controlled by a Schedule. You can edit Schedules by
choosing Schedules from the Tools menu.

The odd thing is that there does not appear to be a way to get the
schedule to run *now*. For example, suppose at a given time my Send &
Receive schedule is supposed to run in 9 minutes. If I click on the
Send & Receive button, you might think it would cause the Send &
Receive schedule to run immediately. But it doesn't. It still waits
9 minutes. Does anyone know of a way around this? (Entourage 2004
with latest updates.)

Tools > Run Schedule
For example, suppose at a given time my Send & Receive schedule is

It doesn't check at all? Are the accounts included in your Send & Receive
All schedule?

My schedule is set to run at 5 minute intervals, but when I click the
Send/Receive button (or Apple-K) the schedule runs immediately, regardless
of how many minutes are left in the schedule.

Tools menu, 'run shecdule...'
For example, suppose at a given time my Send &

It does. That is all that button does, is to run the built in 'send &
receive all' schedule. The built in one cannot be deleted, and should be
shown in bold in the list of schedules.
But it doesn't. It still waits
9 minutes. Does anyone know of a way around this?

Is your 10 minute schedule the built in one, or is it another one you have
defined yourself? The button won't know what your self-defined schedules are
supposed to do, it will only run the built in one.

Thank you for clearly stating the version number :)
