Getting rid of 'no mail' beep sound

I have Entourage checking my POP e-mail account every 10 minutes, but I
get this annoying beep everytime that it checks and there is no mail.
So far I have not found or read a solution to this problem, but there
has to be one. It doesn't make that sound when it checks and there is
no mail in my IMAP e-mail account. Any Help? Thanks!

Preferences (CMD + ,) --> General Preferences --> Notifications.

You have a range of options there as to how Entourage informs you of
incoming mail.

Go to Preferences and choose "Notification" under General Preferences.
Uncheck the "no mail sound" button.
