Getting Rid of Spam with Entourage IMAP -- Help please

Hey, I'm going nuts trying to figure out a solution to this. I use
IMAP with my Entourage and would like to have spam permanently deleted
when I empty the spam folder INSTEAD of having it moved to the Trash
folder. I save all my email and don't want the spam in there anymore.

Any ideas? I tried using the NUKE script but it doesn't seem to
work. Spam is still moved to the Trash folder where it then sits
alongside my legitimate deleted items waiting to be archived.

The Deleted Items folder is probably not a good place to save email to be
archived. You could always created a "To Be Archived" folder that gets
periodically archived and then deleted.

What Entourage does with deleted messages on an IMAP server is controlled in
your IMAP account settings (Tools > Accounts > (your IMAP account) >
Advanced > Delete options). However, you probably don't want to change these
settings since any mail you delete will be purged rather than moved to
Deleted Items, which is what you want.

My recommendation would be to create a Schedule (Tools > Schedules) that
runs periodically and MOVES messages from your IMAP Junk E-Email folder to
your LOCAL Deleted Items or your LOCAL Junk E-mail folders (the ones that
appear "On My Computer"). That will get it off the IMAP server and then you
can use additional schedules to then handle it locally.

I'm not 100% this will work (messages are still technically deleted from the
IMAP server), but it's worth a shot. Let us know if you have any success.
