Nigel Creaser

Hi,

I would like to get time phased data from the resource and task usages
field. When I cut and paste the info all the work comes accross as "50hrs"
and is treated as text in MS Excel does anyone know a way around this.

I have tried the export facilities but I cant would out how to export the
time phased information.

Cheers

Hi Nigel,

Welcome to the Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

Please see FAQ Item: 10. Exporting to Excel.
You can also use the Analyze timescaled data in Excel macro on the Analysis
toolbar.

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at
this web address: http://www.mvps.org/project/

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on:)

Could you elaborate a little, Nigel? Do you mean Excel didn't get the data,
you didn't get the mapping or that there was no response when you clicked
the button?

OK Nigel, try Tools/Organizer... and in the dialog select the Toolbars tab.
In the left you should see those bars in Global.mpt and the right shows any
customized toolbars specific to your project. Copy the Analysis bar from
the left to the right. If that doesn't work, the problem might have
occurred when upgrading from Project 98. From Windows Explorer, rename the
global.mpt to something like oldglobal.mpt. There may be more than one
global.mpt that you need to rename: the critical one is in the user's
profile. Then, by opening Project, it will recreate a new Global.mpt which
will include the Analysis toolbar. You can migrate any personalized settings
from the oldglobal.mpt into a newer one using Tools/Organizer...
