Ghost/Mirror Accounts

HI...

I am having a problem with Entourage... For some reason Entourage has created a mirror of my account. as well as having my hotmail account that appears as.. *********@hotmail.co.uk I have also noticed there is now another 'account' that has the name *********@hotmail.co.uk2..... (the astrix part is also the same)...

this is leading to a few problems...

1. when i open entourage, it is random which account will be used.

2. when one account is not used for a bit, when it is then opened, it 'catches up' with all the emails it has not downloaded before when the other persona is being used.

your help would be greatly appreciated.

Go to Tools and choose Accounts, make sure that your Hotmail account is not
setup twice, when it is setup twice, just remove one of the two accounts.

Choose Accounts from the Tools menu. Is the extra account listed there?

If this is a Hotmail account you should be able to safely delete it
without affecting the mail on the server.

hi, and thanks for your advice.

I did however check there was only one account before i posted on here (should of mentioned that, sorry) and there is only ONE account!

I am using a fully subscribed Hotmail account... and this problem has only been happening past few days.

also, i am being asked to log in to my hotmail account via msn.co.uk a lot. happens on average twice a day... is this normal? i am prompted to o this by an error report saying access is forbidden... and then mail comes through from the 'hotmail team' asking for me to sign in to my account.

still getting the problem....

Try to setup your Hotmail account in a new identity and see if it still
happens, go to Entourage in the menu and choose switch identities, create a
new identity and switch into it, when this resolves your issue, you can
export and import items from the previous identity as RGE.
