Gifs don't show on Reply

We send out a newsletter formatted in HTML and containing .gif's (logos)

This works fine, but if someone replies to it, the logos don't appear - just
the dreaded "X box" - the text is fine

We are Outlook 2002 and Exchange 2000 SP3

Any ideas ?
