Yes I did. I already had POP access to it set up. So I created a
second account in Entourage.

One unintended and negative consequence to having both POP and IMAP at
the same time was that Entourage moved the messages from IMAP setting
into my local inbox and removed them from the GMail Server. So now I
will have to manually move them back. Bummer of a feature!!!

That's the way POP works by default -- download and delete. But this is
certainly worth keeping in mind for those folks who are transitioning
from POP to IMAP instead of creating a new account.

Actually I have been using POP with GMail for about 1.5 years and it
was not doing that before. I later discovered what happened was that
the labels were removed from the messages and they were put in the all
mail folder. However, it was definitely the IMAP part that did that
not the POP. Or else the POP access was working incorrectly for the
last 1.5 years. My POP settings never affected the messages on the
GMail server.

For those who come upon this thread. I did a bit of experimenting on
the behavior I experienced and started a new thread on that. You may
to check it out. The subject to search for is "GMail IMAP - Use with
caution"

I've never used pop features for my gmail before because I was holding
out for IMAP. Now, I'm glad its finally here. The big reason I'm
excited abuot this is because I believe that IMAP will let me drag and
drop out of my local computer mail and into the gmail web server. so
now I can keep all my local mail online and delete it off my comp.
