GMail POP failure

Is anyone else having a similar problem. My connections to
pop.gmail.com seem to failing for the last few days. I have verified all
my settings and they are correct -

pop server: pop.gmail.com
account id: [email protected] (just myusername doesn't work either)
POP service requires SSL connection is enabled, port is 995

I can however login using GMail's web interface, and I am able to send
mail through smtp.gmail.com.

I run Entourage2004 on MacOS 10.4.2. Any help/pointers would be
appreciated.

I have emailed GMail's support and I only get automated canned
responses. I suppose that is to be expected from a free email service.

I frequently get sporadic "cannot connect" messages from gmail. What's
interesting, is that I have two accounts, and I'll get a failure message for
one but not the other on the same Send&Receive All run. Then 10 minutes
later both will work fine. I've just put it down to iffy servers on their
part and ignored it. (Ent 2004, OS 10.3.9)

Are you getting consistent and permanent failure messages such that you
haven't been able to log in for days, or sporadic like me?

I get a consistent failure. I too have two accounts and it works fine on
one of them but not the other.
