Gmail rule

Hi guys i hope you can help,

I have been using Entourage 04 for a while now and have set it up with
my Gmail account and my work email account and it works fine. A few
weeks ago i set up some rules to put emails recieved from my boss into
a separate folder, and stuff from ebay to go to the ebay folder that
is set up on the computer. I have noticed that any email that comes
in from my boss via my work email (which is set up as POP) works fine
and the rule places it in the correct folder the moment it hits my
inbox. The same cannot be said for any mail that comes from my gmail
account.

I have been through everything on the mac, removed all other rules
incase it was corrupted by them, re-written the rule thousands of
times (well not thousands, but you get the idea) but what ever i do
nothing that comes in from gmail appears to want to go into the
correct file, or be effected in any way by my rules that i have set
up. Does any one have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance

Have you check the Mailing List Manager (MLM) rules? Can you give us an
example of your rule?

List your Criteria and your Actions.

Have you tried using a Category rather than an email address?

If any criteria are met - from - contains [email address] then change
status to not junk mail and move to [folder]

I did a quick test at work this morning - any email coming in from
work the rules work fine, anything from gmail doesnt.

Maybe I'm just tired, but are you looking for mail sent to your gmail
account to go to one folder?

"Any to recipient" contains <enter your gmail address>

Move messages to folder xxx

This would give you a blanket move messages sent to your account to one
folder. However, that's a pretty broad rule. You might be better off
creating rules based on the sender rather than which account is receiving
the mail.

Its the rules bases on sender that i want to create (get working) the
rules i currently have in place only work for mail coming into my work
email. Both work and gmail are POP. All i want the rules to do is to
put emails sent by my boss into a separate folder etc.
It doesnt appear to make a lot of sense to me but maybe i am just
missing some massive thing?!

No I need rules to work by sender to be moved to folder xxx but it
seems that those rules only work on emails sent to my work email
address and not gmail. Both are POP email so i have created the rules
under the POP tab.
Am i missing something major here?
Thanks

No i need it to apply the rule to specific senders, eg mail from my
boss' email address goes into his folder. The rules work fine for
email being sent to my work email address but not to my gmail
address. They are both POP.
