Got email for appointment for me to "Accept/Tentative/Decline/Etc."

I've used BCM a while, and wanted to learn more about the thing where
someone emails another person with an appointment date/time and asks them to
"Accept" or "Decline" or "Propose New Time" etc.

Is there a name for this function, like interactive appointment scheduling
or something?

For one of these appts, does everything I type (like if I add some more info
to the appt) and everything other person types (like if they labeled it
"red" or changed some spelling on "call Mary at 9am" to "call Marie 9am"
automatcially get emailed around to the other?

Those are Exchange/Outlook features and not related to BCM.
