Group Address problem

Russ

When I send email to a Group (allready set up in my address book) and
surpress the list of to whom it is going:
The TO in the email shows the name of the group AND my FROM email
address.
How can I get Entourage to show ONLY the group name.

Don't think you can supress the from address. You could, however, set up a
dummy account (Tools > Accounts) and change the From field to that account
when you compose the e-mail. Then any attempt to reply will bounce back to
the sender.

Don't think I said my original problem correctly. When I send out a Group
email the "TO" area shows like this: To: Name of Group followed
by<[email protected]>.
What I want to do is simply have the "TO" artea show ONLY the name of the
group (it should not also show my my email addressin the TO field).

Anybody else having this problem? Thanks Russ

I think it is working exactly as you like it. That is, if you have yourself
listed in the group. I send out a letter to a group, with the recipients not
visible to each other. Each person who receives it, gets the name of the
group, followed by their email address.

I have checked this out with 5 separate email accounts I own. Each one only
shows the group name, followed by its own email address.

Rest easy ;-)

That's the way it's designed. The only way to get it to work they way you
want is to turn off the "don't show" checkbox for the group, BCC the group,
and then add an address (real or fake) to the To line. It could simply be
"Name of Group", which will bounce but will appear to your recipients as you
wanted.

THANK YOU WALT. I created my own problem. I included myself in the
group so as to be certain the message went out OK.

As you said - since I was in the group I received the message specifically
identified to come to me and showing my email address.

Now that I know my group file works OK, I'll delete myself from the group
and thereby delete my problem !!!!!!! Russ :)))))
