Grouping by time is nice, but can't collapse them

When I click on the disclosure triangle in the grouping separators,
nothing happens. What am I missing?

Where is the preview pane? Does pressing the left arrow key with the group
header selected do anything?

I don't use the Preview Pane. I can choose "Expand All" or "Collapse All"
from the View menu, but I cannot expand or collapse individual groups.

You can set up your custom view by clicking view>arrange by>edit custom
arrangements.

Make a view similar to this attachment picture. Notice the Collapsed option
for this view.

Cool. If only I could then click the disclosure triangles to EXPAND each
default-closed group! :) My inbox won't do it!

That seems to be a bug if you're not using the Preview Pane On Right mode.
You can still click to select a group and then use the left and right arrow
keys to collapse and expand groups, respectively.

How do I report bugs? Just send feedback?

Good tip! Thanks.

Another problem I have is that the collapse state is not remembered. If I
leave the inbox and go to any other folder, when I go back to the inbox all
groups are expanded again.

Guess grouping just doesn't like me. :-(

I think they're aware of this one, but if you want to express your feelings
on the importance of correcting this bug, sending feedback through the Help
menu is the proper way to do so.

Yes, this is definitely NOT working in Entourage. The group
by time/ day feature DOES NOT WORK consistently. I found
that it works in some folders but not in others. WEIRD!

Needs a fix from Microsoft!

I don't know if you know this or not (I didn't at first) but you have to
select the view you want for each folder separately. Just because I had
created a view, and applied it to one folder, another folder also needed to
have the same view selected.

Right. The benefit of this is that you can have different views set up for
different folders.

If you apply a view to a folder, then any subfolder you create in it will
pick up that as its default.
