Halftoning? Screens? (0/1)

Hi Folks,

I don't know if you'll be able to explain why this is happening... I
believe its a setting in Publisher 2003 though.

When I print a text box, screened, on top of a graphic, I'm noting a
lot of moire (spelling?). It usedta print a lot clearer, so all I can
figure is its something in the way the screen/shading is configured.

I'm attaching 2 images - hopefully the newsgroup doesn't drop them.
One is a screenshot of the actual document, and the other is a
screenshot of the PDF. The PDF is very similar to how the document
prints on a high resolution laser printer also.

Any help is appreciated.

Ah bummer. I was afraid you'd say that. I guess we'll have to switch
to pagemaker... hm... unless I made the transparency part of the
graphic and merely overlaid the text on top the graphic.

Thanks for the quick response!

A workaroud is to export as a high-resolution TIFF and print that. It does
balloon the filesize of PDF files, though.
