Handheld Synch Installation Failure

Installed Office 2004 and then attempted to install the Entourage
handheld synch software (which is for Office X - there doesn't appear
to be a Office 2004 version). The installation fails with a message that
the Microsoft Component Plugin can't be found.

1. Is the handheld synch installer compatible with Office 2004?

2. Is there a way to get the Microsoft Component Plugin for Office
2004. I'm sure it's not on the Office CD ROM because I did the install
with select all.

Did you try the Help? That's what it's there for.

1. Go to Help menu/Entourage Help.

2. Enter "handheld" and click Search, or press Enter or return.

3. The first of two results is "About synchronizing with a handheld device.
It tells you exactly how and where to do it/

The second step says:

2. Install the Handheld Sync Installer (Entourage Conduit). Open the
Additional Tools folder located inside the Microsoft Office 2004 folder.
Double-click Handheld Sync Installer, and then follow the directions on your
screen.
