Hard Disc crash means I have lost my copy of Office.

Can't find any details of my purchase from about 14 months ago.
Is there any way I can load the software on to my machine which now has a new hard disc without buying another copy ?

Yes, but they will charge you a fee and you will need proof of purchase.

If you have the DVD, the CD Key is on the back of the sleeve.
