Okay so I work for a rather large company (2000+ employees) with about 20%
Mac clients all running OSX. After months of anticipation waiting for the
Exchange Update we have gotten it but in our test groups no one has been
able to use this option as aviable replacement for Outlook 2001.
Although the calendars sync, the mail is displayed and the contacts are
there, the bottom line is everything is REALLY slow.
- Typing a message has a significant lag.
- Whenever a user tries to quit Entourage it always says a network operation
is in progress.
- Our extensive Public Folder tree is always replicating and refreshing.
- Retrieving small messages takes forever.
I've been reading the newsgroups and am contemplating opening a case with
Microsoft. But I'm not sure if it is worth the $295 if these are just
inherent problems with the system.
We are running Exchange 2000 Sp3 in an Enterprise environment. Each city
has its own exchange server but mail is initially routed through 2 load
balanced servers in our corporate headquarters.
