KMD,
Here is one way to get your milestones at noon. First, ensure the
milestone has a duration of "0" days. Then go to Tools/Options the View
tab and pick a date format that includes the time of day. Finally in the
Start column, set the start time of the milestone to be XX/XX/XX
12:00PM. The milestone will appear in the middle of the day. Note that
entering a date or time directly into the Start or Finish field will set
a constraint. To remove the constraint, either use the task information
toolbar icon and set the constraint type on the advanced tab to
"As-soon-as-possible", or add the Constraint Type column to the view,
filter on milestones, reset the first milestone constraint to ASAP and
use "fill down" to reset all other milestones.
If the file has several milestones occuring on various days, the above
process can be automated with a simple macro. If you need help with
that, repost and I'll write a macro for you.
However, normally milestones are the culminatiion of tasks that have
completed. In that case, the milestones will have one or more
predecessors. If the latest predecessor ends in the middle of the day
(or at least a few hours away from the end of a work day) the milestone
will appear when the predecessor task is finished. For example, let's
say the predecessor task has a duration of 4.5 days. That task will show
a Finish date and time of XX/XX/XX 12:00PM (assuming it started at the
beginning of a day) and the successor milestone will show a Start (and
Finish) date and time of XX/XX/XX/ 12:00PM.
Hope this helps.
John
