have office 97 want to update to current- is there free updates?

also-i do not use microsoft internet explorer, i use mozilla firefox. if
there are free updates will this be a problem?

You may download service packs and updates for Office 97 at no
cost from the Microsoft website. But upgrading from Office 97 to
to a newer version of Office is NOT free... you must purchase the
newer-version software. See
