HELLLPPP!

I have been having trouble updating office with the latest update. Did all
the things i needed to do but the connection to the server keep quitting. I
did the research and re-installed Office 2008. That's where all the trouble
began. I have been farily pleased wiht Entourage and have spent a great deal
of time getting it organized and functional. After the re-install however, i
open Word and it tells me my database is messed up and that i need to deal
with it by going to Microsoft database Utility which reveals problems with my
database and that i need to rebuild my database... I do_ new main identity
and all...ughh. so i open Entourage and reveals an error comes up that says,
"this identity cannot be used with this version of Entourage." Now i am
completely lost and somewhat despairing as to the amount of information i
can't get to in Entourage. What can i do to fix this situation? I did not
copy my original main identity. I also did what the installer told me to do
with the Older version of office- Trash Can. I haven't emptied it yet
however! If there is anyone who knows how to help, i need it!!

Did you re-apply all the updates??

What do you mean new Mail identity?? Did you rebuild or create a new
one??? A new one will definitively NOT have your previous data in it.

It looks to me like you haven't re-installed all the updates after
reinstalling Office. Your database has been updated to a version of
Office that is newer than the one you have installed right now.

Now i am
completely lost and somewhat despairing as to the amount of information i

The installer sends the Office installation files to the trash. The
identity is untouched.
It's never "uninstalled"

Install and Update Errors

"this identity cannot be used with this version of Entourage."

"This Identity Cannot Be Opened With This Version of Entourage"
This message usually means, for example, any Identity saved with a 12.1.0 or
later version will not open in 12.0.0 or 12.0.1. Since there was a database
format change in 12.1.0 (SP1), Entourage 12.0.0 or 12.0.1 cannot open a
database saved in the later version.

Entourage 2004 also had a database upgrade from the original release. Once
you upgrade, the Identity will open.
