Entourage acts as if it's never been set up. All my emails
are gone except for that first "Welcome to Microsoft
Entourage..." email. I checked in my Main Identity folder
and there is a database file but it's only 144kb. I had a
ton of emails in there! Where are they?

Search your disk for a folder called 'Office 2001 Identities', 'Office X
Identities' or 'Office 2004 Identities' according to which office version
you are running.

Under OS 9/Office 2001 the correct location for your identity folder is in:

<Startup Disk:Documents:Microsoft User Data:Office 2001 Identities:

Under OS X/Office vX/Office 2004 it's:

~/Documents/Microsoft User Data/Office X Identities/
Or
~/Documents/Microsoft User Data/Office 2004 Identities/

(where '~/' is your current login's 'Home' directory

Make sure you put your main identity folder in there, then if you still
can't see it when you restart Entourage, try to change identities (it's
under the File menu) and see if your identity shows up in the list.

I have 2 different Office X Identities folders and one
Identities folder. The database file inside is a different
size for each but the largest Database file is in the Main
Identity folder without a Messages file. Is there supposed
to be a Messages file in the Main Identity folder? Do I
need to just move the correct Database file to the
home/Documents/Microsoft User Data/Office X
Identities/Main Identity folder or should I replace the
whole Identity folder in that location with the Office X
Identity folder that has the largest Database file size?

Also, I have Entourage 10.0.0. Would upgrading to 2004
make a difference?

Thanks so much!

Thanks, Barry!! I renamed both the "bad" Identity folders
and copied the good one into the proper place and
everything is back. I guess the Apple software updates did
something screwy since that's the only thing that happened
before all heck broke loose.
