Help! Entourage and Outlook sync?

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: intel

Well, I have evolved from a PC to a Mac. I have many files, contacts, messages, calendars and what not in my old Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 that I would just love to be able to import here to the MacBook.

Not only that, but because the MacBook is for traveling and the old paper-weight... errr PC... on my desk isn't about to change, I need a quick way to sync Entourage and Outlook to continue using both!!

(Until we can get the finances to completely convert to all Macs!)

Is there a way to do this? Please keep in mind that this is my first Mac and Mac-geek-speak will just fly over my head.

Wonderful! ... Thank you both for responding!

It seems that the O2M from littlemachines is the way to go, to convert all from the paperweight to the MacBook.

Conversion is nice and I think I can make that work, but can it be considered a sync? I do not plan, nor am I able, to competely stop using the pc for thecalendar and such. Will I have to convert everything everytime I want the two computers to be in harmony?

The solutions provided you are not syncing solutions but rather
migration solutions.

Without something like an Exchange Server from your company or an
Exchange service provider then no easy solution exists to keep the two
in sync.

If your mail account is an IMAP account then you can keep mail
synchronized but not calendar and contacts.

Hello All,

I've been given a job to update someone's contact list and I am trying
to figure out how to do it on my mac. If I import their outlook
contact list to my Mac Address Book, can I then import it back to the
PC?

I've been following this thread, and just want to make sure I'm understanding things correctly.

According to my reading of the previous posts, there are adequate ways to MIGRATE information from OUTLOOK to ENTOURAGE. Unfortunately, there is no way to SYNCHRONIZE both programs in order to maintain a work-based PC (with Outlook) and a home-based MAC (with Entourage)

I would gladly be wrong as I will continue to work in BOTH worlds.

Only if Entourage is connected via an Exchange account.

Does this also apply to those that were using Microsoft's Outlook Live service to sync email, calendar and to-do items with an online server (non-Exchange, as I understood it)? That is, as an existing PC-desktop user using Outlook and Microsoft's Outlook Live service to sync above items online, is it possible to then sync Entourage to the same online profile using a Mac? Seeing as Microsoft makes all of the above software products, it seems like this should be possible.

As a side note, Outlook Live is a subscription service, but the download that makes this service work with Outlook is free and available from Microsoft online. Perhaps there is an equivalent download for Entourage that I missed?

This is out of my area of expertise. Maybe some of the other Exchange
experts can chime in and offer some help.

Thanks for seeking out an answer; I really appreciate it! You are right; it really does look and behave like Exchange, but as you rightly point out, this is using a plugin called Outlook Connector. If this won't work with Entourage, that's good to know. I was basically holding off on transferring my data from Outlook to Entourage, hoping that I would just be able to sync this.
