In Publisher Help, when I click on a link in "Troubleshoot
background and foreground pages," I get an Internet
Explorer Script Error - "An error has occurred in the
script on this page. Line: 1, Char: 1, Object doesn't
support this property or method, Code 0,
mk:mad:MSITStore:C:\Program%20Files\Microsoft%
20Office\Office\1033
\pub6.chm::/pub9html/pbmnulCONTNT2015.HTM, Do you want to
continue running scripts on this page? Yes/No."

In IE, tools, Internet Options, Advanced, tick "Disable script debugging",
un-tick
"Display a notification about every script error".

Thank you for your speedy reply. I tried your solution,
but I'm still getting the same error. I did reboot after
making the changes in the Internet options.

Thank you. Another good suggestion, but again,
ineffective. BTW, I have run a "detect and repair" on
Publisher.

Thank you Mary. I tried that and un-ticked "Display a
notification about every script error" as my first
possible solution. I rebooted just to make sure, but I
still get the error.

Just a thought..
Do you have all the latest updates for activeX & Java?
What Are the Computer's Specs (OS, Etc..)?

Another good thought. I did have the latest activeX & Java
installed, but I had a problem with the Windows Update of
Nov 12. It severely damaged many system files and I had to
refresh Windows 98SE and reinstall many applications. I'm
not quite sure how to check for the version id or how to
reinstall them if they are indeed damaged. BTW, Publisher
was reinstalled after refreshing Win98SE and "detect and
repair" was run when I first experienced this error.
