Help -- Lost all calendar function

Hi,

I'm running Office v.X on a PPC 17' iMac running OS 10.4.8. My
calendar functions in Entourage have been getting a bit dodgy over the
past two weeks, with my not being able to access months beyond the
current month. Then today I lost all calendar function completely.
When I try to click on my calendar icon from wtihin Entourage I get a
dialog saying "Could not open that feature. Mail error." Upon
clicking OK, that dialog box shows again one or two more times. I
then cannot get back to the mail pane directly by clicking on it. If
I click on the address book, I can get to that and then from there get
back to mail.

Can anybody suggest any ways to fix this? I've tried running some
general disk diagnostics and fixes (Disk Utility, Repair Permissions,
Repair Disk, and TechTool Pro) but without success.

Cheers,

Michael

Rebuild our Entourage database. How to rebuild:

Thanks Dianne. The page you linked to regarding rebuilding the
database is specific to Entourage 2004. I am running Entourage v.X.
Should I follow the same directions?

I tried to do a typical rebuild of the database but the rebuild
failed. There was a status bar showing a process for "compacting the
database" which stalled at 1000 of about 36000. I then got a dialog
box saying that compacting failed, end of file reached, and asking if
I wanted to attempt an advanced rebuild. I said no. Should I go
ahead and try the advanced rebuild? Is there something else I should
be trying? I believe all my problems started when I attempted to
delete the buildup of files in the trash within Entourage.

Thanks,

Michael

End of file... The file that has reached it's end is often the preferences
file. Move the 'Microsoft' folder out of your local preferences folder and
try again. If this fails, end of file means the database file is too
corrupted to rebuild.

Try this is removing the preferences does not work.

Run this script on your messages: Export folders

http://scriptbuilders.net/files/exportfolders1.1.html

The script will fail on a folder with corruption. You can see what folder by
examining the folders it creates. Now try deleting the messages in that
folder. You can try to drag the folder to the desktop first to save the
messages. Dragging a folder creates an MBOX file.

Now try running the script again. You might have to go through this process
several times but if it works you will have a database that should rebuild.

Let me know how this works.
