Help!!! My Entourage is OSX bombs every time I try to send or receive.

I've been using Entourage for quite a while and this is a new problem
for me. It was working great, but all of a sudden I can't send or
receive messages anymore. I can access my address book, create tasks,
make notes etc. My Entourage quits every time I try to send/receive,
and I get a message that it has quit unexpectedly and would I like to
submit a bug report?

I've restarted my computer numerous times. I've tried uninstalling
Entourage and reinstalling from the original disks, but still the same
problem. I'm able to go into Classic and use Outlook express to get my
email, so it's not the server or the internet service. I can go to
websites with no problem too.

I'm worried this may be a virus. Or is there some other explanation?

Recently, malformed junk mail has exploited a bug in Entourage's Junk Mail
Filter that causes the entire program to crash when Entourage attempts to
download and process the message. Microsoft has posted a fix at their web
site:

This a comment from David Cortright [MS] on this issue:
"I'm certain the bug will be fixed in Office 2004."

If you are crashing on receiving mail, it could be due to a corrupt
message on the server. Work through the steps on the "Crashes" page on The
Entourage Help Page.

Seems to be a common problem with all Office X software and OS X 10.3.3.
Excel does he same thing periodically when saving. What software version are
you using?

You likely have a piece of spam in your inbox that is crashing the Junk Mail
Filter - some recent spam has been causing this trouble for a few people.

First, try turning off the JMF and collecting mail. If this doesn't work,
for a POP account, turn off the preview pane, set 'online access' on in the
account settings, click on the account icon that has now appeared in the
folder listing on the left, select the spam messages with a single click
only and delete them. Now try a send & receive again.
