Help needed - problem with Office 2008/Entourage - Calendar

I installed MS Office 2008 for Mac, as well as the update. My problem
is with Entourage. I am able to use the program fine, except when I
try to open the Calendar, it stalls - there is a long delay, usually
about one minute. It is not a problem with my RAM, I am using a Mac
Dual-Core Intel Xeon with a 2.66 GHz processor. I have removed all MS
files from my computer, tried uninstalling, and reinstalling Office
2008 - does not help. If I create a test identity, Entourage works
fine and I am able to switch between my In Box and Calendar without
delay. This leads me to suspect it is a problem with my current
Identity, which was imported from Office 2004. I have rebuilt my
Identity multiple times, does not help. I suspected it could be a
corrupt Calendar event, so I deleted all events, but it did not help.
Even with no Calendar events - the program stalls when I try to open
the Calendar. Am not sure how to proceed. Any advice appreciated.

Known issue, it's flagged messages that is causing the problem. One user
reported:

At one point I had about 2000, and would get stuck for 5-6 minutes. I
unflagged most of them, but I still have a couple hundred, They now slow me
down to about 30 seconds switching to calendar.

You might try assigning a category named flag to these messages and then
unflagging them. You can use a custom view to see flagged category.

Re-categorized my flagged items, then cleared all my flags - entourage
now works perfectly. I appreciate your help!!!
