Help please: Drawing objects don't refresh in print layout

W

Wanderlust

If anyone can help please - I have recently had problems with my drawing
objects appearing while in print layout. On the surface this may sound like
a simple fix of updating view objects in Options, or removing placeholders.
However it is not that the objects _never_ appear, they appear after I type
additional text (even just spacebar makes them magically appear). This
occurs regardless if the objects are floating or in-line. The objects range
from pasted jpegs to simple Word AutoShapes.

Furthermore, if only half the object is visible in the viewing area, when I
scroll down, the lower half is not visible. Again, entering text make the
missing part appear, but this is not a viable fix as I would have to repeat
for every page!

When I print or go into print preview, everything appears fine.

I have explored the depths of my computer screen refresh settings and other
display parameters, but I can't find anything.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Wanderlust,

In addition to checking placeholders and where graphics are
formatted as 'inline with text' one of the more frequent issues
is an outdated graphic card/chip driver set.

See if this happens if you turn down hardware acceleration
for your PC from your desktop (right click, choose Properties
then Settings=>[Advanced]=>/Troubleshooting\ at least two clicks
and then starting Word.
