HELP please - undeleting my calendar events

K

I use Entourage hourly.

I opened iCal to test something and DELETED the Entourage calendar.

I had sync services enabled between iCal and Entourage, now all my
calendar events in Entourage have gone.

Is there ANY way to retrieve the data PLEASE.

Happy to make a PayPal donation to someone that can give me the
resolution to this question.

Thanks in advance...

Hi Karl,

I'm afraid there's not much that can be done at this stage. Entourage
synchronises its calendar with the "Entourage" calendar in iCal; if you
create a new entry in Entourage, it will show up in iCal's "Entourage"
calendar and vice-versa. In other words, if you delete the "Entourage"
calendar, you automatically delete every item it contains, and this gets
synched to Entourage's calendar as well, thus deleting every item in there
as well.

Do you, by any chance, perform backups of your Documents folder? If you do,
you might be able to retrieve your Entourage data up to the moment of the
last backup. Post back and we'll tell you what to do next.

Hi thanks for your reply

I have gone back to the last home directory backup, but unfortunately
that was a month ago.

I have tried to get deleted corestorage.ics files using Data Rescue II
but they all seem empty.

It seems crazy that it could all just have gone with one click.

Any more suggestions gratefully received.

I suggest setting a task to remind you to backup. I backup every 3 days and
have my mail set to leave on server for 3 days so my incoming mail is
covered.

When disaster happens like this, try to look at it as a learning experience.

For his future protection, is there any way to sync 'export only' from
Entourage?

You can make that selection when you first turn on Sync Services, but after
they sync does just that "it syncs".

I suggest you turn of Sync Services. Yu could manually run it periodically
to keep things synced.

A long shot: Did you publish the calendar to .Mac? It might still be
there....
