Hi,
Is it possible to take a pp slideshow that I have on a disc and put it on to
my hard drive and then take it into Camtasia Studio convert it to an AVI
file then copy on to a DVD? To explain further I have a disc of a family
reunion on a disc which I can view on the computer. I myself have Power
Point 2003 and Camtasia Studio. I was wondering If I could somehow take the
disc that a family member gave me and do what I am asking.
Or do I need the person who made the file in the first place to send or
give me that file?
Sorry to be so long winded.
Thank you in advance.
Liz.

Thank you Sonia,
I do not explain myself at the best of times.
What I meant was I have a copy of the original disc, and had no idea how I
could go about getting it into Camtasia and then converting to AVI and the
putting it on to DVD.
I had put a slide show in PP 2003 and then using Camtasia Studio recorded it
to an AVI file and then put on to DVD.

I have a copy of a disc that was done in PP 2003 of a family reunion and I
wondered how I could go about doing the same thing as I only have the disc
and can view on Power Point and I did not have the original pictures.
I am very new to all of this and only bought PP as I had wanted it to make
slideshows of my personal pictures and then when I found Camtasia Studio it
was exactly what I wanted as I could put on to DVD.
I would like to be able to take the copy of the disc that a family member
gave to me and somehow take it into Camtasia convert to AVI, put on to DVD
so that other family members can view on the television sets as a lot of
them do not have computers.
Thank you for reply and also for trying to understand what I am trying to
do.
Liz.

Open Windows Explorer and locate the CD that your friend gave you. Select the
file(s) on it and either drag and drop it to a folder on your hard drive, or
copy and paste it to the folder. Then right click on the presentation file on
your hard drive and select Properties. Uncheck the "Read Only" box and click
OK. Now you can proceed with whatever you want to do in PowerPoint and
Camtasia.
