HELP! uninstall problems w/2002 office

trying to uninstall office 2002 pro small bus and reinstall as it is
corrupted itself somehow. It will not repair itself or completely uninstall
- after installing, word will no longer start excet in safe mode for me to
fix(???). Does the unstall remove the registry entries and the license info
to allow for a clean install?? If not, how can I remove them manually . .
