Hi there fellow Entourage users:
I am new to Entourage 2008. I have been using it on three different Macs to access email on an Exchange 2008 server. Entourage 2008 is quite a bit different than Apple's Mail (which I have been using for ages) and I have three questions.
First off, I am using Entourage 2008 with the same Exchange 2003 email account on three different Macs. In Apple's Mail, I have the option to save the mail on the server (IMAP) and download every message to my Macs in folders that correspond to the ones I created on the Exchange server. My first question is simple. I want to be able to have all my email physically sitting on all three of my Macs, but keep it all on my employer's email server. How do I set that up?
Secondly, in a failed attempt to fix the problem in my first question, I somehow set up just the one Mac in my office to download email from a certain recipient to my Mac's local inbox instead of to the server and remove it from the Exchange server. How do I stop that?
Third, much to my disappointment, I learned very quickly that in order to set up server-side rules, I need to use an Outlook client on a Windows PC. I am having a hard time understanding why that functionality isn't available on Entourage 2008. To make matters worse, if I use a web browser from my OS of choice, which is Mac OS X 10.5.5, I can't even go to our Exchange server's web site and click on the rules button. The rules button simply doesn't show up on the webmail version of Exchange, which means that I need both Entourage and Outlook just to read my emails and manage my rules. I know no one in here probably can speak for Microsoft, but I wonder if anyone has heard of any movement by MS to improve that aspect of Entourage.
Thanks,
Stan Horwitz
